Stellenbosch man stabbed to death during home invasion

A Stellenbosch man has been stabbed to death and his 14-year-old son injured during a home invasion earlier today 31/10/2017.

The 43-year-old Piet Verster was still sleeping when two people entered his home and stole numerous items.

Police spokesperson, Noloyiso Rwexana, says the victim and his wife were sleeping when two unidentified suspects entered the residence and attacked the victim with a knife.


“A 43-year-old man was stabbed and fatally injured while a 14-year-old boy stabbed and wounded. Circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation. No one has been arrested at this stage.”

Verster’s 14-year-old son was also wounded in the attack.

He’s currently receiving treatment in hospital. SABC
