Three killed in third KZN family attack in a week

Another KZN family murder is rocking Kwazulu Natal after three people were gunned down on M35 in Folweni, south of Durban.

Police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala said the family was shot at from behind by armed men in two vehicles on the M35 in Folweni.

She said that details of the number of the people injured were still sketchy and would be availed once preliminary investigations have been completed.


Meanwhile the police have made a breakthrough in the Marianhill family massacre investigation arresting four people on Sunday.

Five people from the same family were gunned down on Thursday night, when their attackers opened fire on them in Nteke.

Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says Mariannhill detectives and KwaNdengezi SAPS embarked on an operation in Nteke in the early hours of yesterday morning after receiving a tip-off.

Officers arrested three suspects in connection with the murders.

A fourth suspect was arrested in KwaNdengezi in the afternoon. The Marianhill attack was the second family massacre in KZN last week.

Eight relatives, including six children, were shot before their homes were set alight in the Matimatolo area near Greytown on Tuesday.
