Twenty Six people have been injured in a three-vehicle collision at the corner of Stanger Street and Somtseu Road, in Durban.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene just after 3:30pm on sunday to find chaos.

Two Taxis had collided on a T Bone format before one of the vehicles lost control and overturned coming to rest on its side.

A third vehicle which was stationary at the robot was also involved as the one taxi collided into it after the impact.

One of the taxis had come from the airport and was on its way to Margate.

A total of Twenty Six people from both taxis had sustained various injuries and multiple ambulances were dispatched to assist.

Once all of the injured had been stabilised on the scene they were transported to Lenmed Ethekweni Hospital and other facilities for the further care they required.

At this stage the events leading up to the crash is unknown however SAPS Accident unit was in attendance and will be investigating further.
