Severe thunderstorms, heavy downpours expected in KZN
Durban – Disaster management teams have been placed on high alert with severe thunderstorms expected to hit the province on Wednesday night.
The South African Weather Service has issued a warning, with heavy downpours forecast for the north-eastern parts KwaZulu-Natal, extending into Thursday.
Weather forecaster, Wisani Maluleke says the storms will be accompanied by strong winds.
Heavy rainfall in April this year caused widespread flooding killing 85 people in the province.
Department Of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs spokesperson, Senzelwe Mzila has urged vulnerable communities to pay close attention to weather changes.
